Mental Health
Mental health is an incredibly important aspect of one’s overall wellbeing. Mental health affects how we think, feel and act on a daily basis. Mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress (PTSD), are very common and can interfere with our ability to maintain healthy relationships, cope with stress, manage emotions, and make sound decisions. Mental health issues can impact individuals in vastly different ways. It is essential that those struggling seek help from trained professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists, or mental health counselors who are certified to diagnose and provide treatment plans. Mental health awareness has increased tremendously in the past few decades; however, there is still a significant need for help among individuals suffering from these issues. Mental health should be taken seriously and treated just like physical health. Achieving good mental health requires knowledge of self-care skills and lifestyle changes that involve proper nutrition and exercise while also making sure to take time away from stressful activities on a regular basis.
